May the 4th Be With You: It’s International Star Wars Day!
Fans the world over are celebrating this very special holiday by reading the Star Wars books behind the films. Here, Richard and Kim, two "Star Wars" disciples, offer some guidance ...
Richard Callison: Hey Kim, did you know that today is May the 4th Be With You?
Kim Monahan: Woo hoo! Bring on the nachos and Margaritas!
RC: Um, no, that's Cinco de Mayo. Today is the day we celebrate the entire "Star Wars" oeuvre!
KM: Oh yeah, those were good movies, especially the first three.
RC: You mean the second three.
KM: Oh right, the ones with Leia, Luke, and my son's favorite superhero, Yoda.
RC: Yes, and those characters are also featured in many of the books!
KM: Oh, right, the books. There are a lot of them; is Han Solo in all of them?! I love Han Solo.
RC: No!! There's so much more than just the New Republic.
KM: New Republic?! If there's a New Republic there must be an Old Republic?
RC: Exactly! New Republic features all the classic characters we grew up with, but Old Republic goes further back and tells of the battles between the Jedi and the Sith Empire.
KM: Wow, that’s really interesting. What else is there?
RC: Well, you can read more about the history of the Sith Lords, the Fate of the Jedi, or even the Clone Wars.
KM: Oh, right! It's all coming back to me. There are even books about Zombie Storm Troopers! I love Han Solo.
RC: Yes … anyway, you can look all of this up on the Star Wars timeline.
KM: Is that like the Facebook timeline?
RC: No! You can check it out here on Suvudu.com; every title is included.
KM: Wow, this is fantastic; it breaks it down by series, gives you good titles to start with, and they're all available on eBook! I love May the 4th Be With You!
RC: Yes, May the 4th Be With You, however you choose to celebrate, even with a Margarita.
KM: I love Margaritas.
In real life, both Richard and Kim have been working with Star Wars titles for a cumulative total of twenty years and are big fans of the entire series. You can check out all of the great Star Wars books here.
